2020: The Beginning
Canadian Voyager began as a passion project during the global travel pause. Our founder, an avid traveler who had visited over 70 countries, recognized that existing travel resources weren't addressing the specific needs of Canadian travelers.
The initial focus was on creating comprehensive guides for popular destinations among Canadians, with information on direct flights from major Canadian cities, visa requirements for Canadian passport holders, and practical advice for making the most of the Canadian dollar abroad.
2021: Building the Team
As the site gained popularity, we expanded our team to include travel writers and experts from across Canada. From Vancouver Island to Newfoundland, our contributors bring regional perspectives that reflect Canada's geographic diversity.
We established partnerships with travel industry experts, including former flight attendants, travel agents, and tour guides, to provide insider knowledge and practical advice for Canadian travelers.
2022: Expanding Our Coverage
As travel resumed, we broadened our content to include more destinations and travel styles, from budget backpacking in Southeast Asia to luxury cruises departing from Canadian ports.
